The information on this page refers to License Statistics v5.10, which moved all license server editing actions to the License Server tab (previously Realtime License Server tab) of the Administration page and removed the General tab from the License Servers grid. If you are running an older version of License Statistics, see documentation for versions prior to v5.10.

The License Servers section of the Dashboard lets you see which servers are being monitored and whether they are currently running.

The license server status can be one of the following:

License Server StatusDescription
DownThe license server did not respond within the query interval (see Additional Option tab settings in Adding and editing realtime license servers for information on Query Interval), or the response contains unparsable data.
UpThe license server responded within the query interval (see Additional Option tab settings in Adding and editing realtime license servers for information on Query Interval), and the response contains parsable data.
Unknown

The license server is imported (not realtime) or is part of a license server group (see Creating and managing groups).

Internal Error

License Statistics encountered problems with license server validation, parsing, saving debug logs, or inserting MySQL statistics.

VerifyingThe license server is under verification after being added or edited, but License Statistics has not queried it yet.
Disabled

The license server has been disabled or its setup does not correspond to the current license server settings. This status may also indicate that the server cannot be enabled because you have reached your limit of license servers you can monitor or that enabling the license server failed.

The License Servers grid gives you information about each server, including the vendor being monitored, the type of license manager being used for the monitored software, and whether the license usage information is being gathered as realtime or imported statistics, and whether the server is redundant.

If the server is redundant (for example, using LM-X License Manager's HAL feature) the Redundant column contains an icon depicting three computers; if the server is not redundant, this column contains an icon depicting only one computer. For example, the second entry in the column shown below is a redundant server:

Imported statistics may include denied user reports, pay-per-use logs, and other imported data from a variety of license managers. Imported license server data you can view in License Statistics is limited based on the data in the imported log; therefore, some pages may be unavailable when viewing statistics for an imported license server. If a page is unavailable, the tab title is crossed out and the tab is not selectable.

See Supported license servers for information about whether a particular server is supported for realtime or imported statistics, and how to import report logs. See Denied Requests Log for more information about importing denied request data.

To see the license usage activity for a given server, click on the server name in the Server column. Details about license server activity are described in Viewing license server details.

You can add, edit, or delete license servers using the License Servers tab in the Administration pageYou can also hide license servers using Preferences.
