The information on this page refers to License Statistics v6.24 and newer, which redesigned removal of license servers and features. If you are using a version previous to v6.24, see documentation for previous versions. |
Deleting large sets of data or overcoming limitations of architecture performance (for example, resulting from hardware setup) may cause the license server removal to take longer than usual. Any errors that occur when removing license servers are listed in the Event Log grid.
When you remove a license server from License Statistics, all the license usage data for that server is removed from the database. If you do not want to remove the data, you may want to hide the server instead, as described in Visibility settings.
Only License Statistics administrators can remove license servers. You can also remove individual features from a license server.
To remove a license server from the list of servers being monitored by License Statistics:
- Go to the License Servers page in the Administration section.
- If needed, disable the license server. License servers must be disabled prior to deletion.
- Click the Delete icon in the Action column at the end of the row of the license server you want to remove. The Delete icon is available only if the license server has been disabled.
- Click Yes from the confirmation dialog to delete the license server and all its data.
The removal process occurs asynchronously in the background, and will continue to run even if the License Statistics or the host is restarted.
The license server removal is indicated by a "Deleting" status.
During removal of the license server, its features will also be shown with a "Deleting" status.
