Edits made to a product template will affect any existing license orders that use that product template. The license order values that are set by the product template will use the new values, which can lead to inconsistencies.
When you edit a product template that has existing license orders, LAC will give you a warning that the changes may cause problems with those existing license orders, so if needed you can cancel the changes at that time and investigate whether the changes will be problematic.
