You add features to a product using the Features tab in the Create New Product dialog.

Feature Name

The name of the feature; e.g., "F1."

Templates

The templates you want to associate with the feature. (See Templates.) If you have not yet defined any templates, the only option is Default. To create new templates, use the Templates tab, as described in Creating templates for a product, which is automatically displayed after you click Next from the Features tab.

For example, you may designate that feature F1, your main product, is included in every template, but feature F2, an add-on product, is included only in a template that specifically defines licenses for customers who purchase the add-on.

Each feature obtains its default settings for expiration type, date/number of days, etc. from the template(s) they are included in. Depending on which template is used, these settings may be different. For example, one template may define F1 as having no expiration date (a perpetual license), whereas another template may define F1 as expiring 365 days from activation (an annual license).

After entering all required feature information, click Next to continue to the next tab, Templates.

You can also edit feature information for an existing product using the Edit Product tab (accessed from the Products page).
