The current licensing model for License Statistics is Licensing Model 2025. This page describes considerations for current customers transitioning from an older licensing model to a newer licensing model. (Licensing Model 2025 is the only licensing model available for new customers purchasing License Statistics v7.0 or newer.)
Licensing Model 2013 discontinuation
As of April 30, 2026, we have discontinued the deprecated Licensing Model 2013. As a result:
- It will not be possible to renew your License Statistics maintenance based on Licensing Model 2013 if your maintenance ends after April 30, 2026.
- We will continue to provide support for Licensing Model 2013 until the end of your existing maintenance period.
- We are offering a free transition to our Licensing Model 2025 until the end of your existing maintenance period.
- After your current maintenance period has ended, we will offer a special price for your Licensing Model 2025 subscription when you renew your maintenance.
Licensing Model 2019 deprecation
- Licensing Model 2019 has been deprecated as of License Statistics v7.0; however, we do not currently plan to terminate support for Licensing Model 2019 for existing customers.
- Licensing Model 2019 will continue to work with License Statistics v6.0 and newer, and it will be possible to extend the maintenance based on the original licensing rules.
As part of the deprecation of Licensing Model 2019 and the introduction of Licensing Model 2025:
- New customers must use Licensing Model 2025 with a new purchase of License Statistics v7.0 or newer.
- After September 2, 2025, existing customers can no longer change existing license terms (for example, purchasing an add-on, increasing the number of users/license servers, or changing license type) using Licensing Model 2019. Transition to Licensing Model 2025 will be required when making any changes to existing license terms.
- Due to technical limitations, License Statistics versions prior to v7.0 do not support Licensing Model 2025. Therefore, in order to make changes to existing license terms after September 2, 2025, customers will be required to upgrade to License Statistics v7.x.
- Upon initially upgrading to Licensing Model 2025, we are extending a special offer to existing customers based on current usage and needs (according to the limits specified in the Licensing page). Contact X-Formation Sales for more information.

Moving to Licensing Model 2025
All customers have the ability to move to Licensing Model 2025. To do this, please contact X-Formation Sales to receive a special offer, modify your license configuration, and get a new license.
Due to changes in the way that Licensing Model 2025 counts licenses, new values for usage calculations will need to be set in the new license. Please be prepared to provide our sales representative with the new values, as described below in "Determining new license usage."
Updating License Statistics to v7.0 or newer and license reactivation will be required in order to use Licensing Model 2025.
Determining new license usage
If you are using License Statistics v5.x or v6.x, upgrading to v7.x or newer is required in order to determine new licensing requirements.
If you are using Licensing Model 2013 or Licensing Model 2019, the Licensing page under the Administration section contains a panel that shows the usage values that would be in effect under Licensing Model 2025. You will need to provide these numbers to our sales department in order to receive your new license.

Trial licenses
As of License Statistics v7.0, License Statistics will start as a Trial license type with Licensing Model 2025 rules. All the values displayed on the Licensing page under the Administration section will be calculated according to Licensing Model 2025 rules.
