You must re-activate your license whenever you upgrade your license or renew your maintenance. When you activate your license, it generates a license file (*.lic) that you can reuse with new updates of the software (unless you are instructed to update the license for any reason).
To activate a License Statistics license:
- For Windows only, Activating a License Statistics license on Windows using License Statistics Manager.
- For Linux only, activate License Statistics licenses using the command line utility, lacutil.
Alternatively for either Windows or Linux:
- you can activate the License Statistics license online. However, to avoid activation problems, use this method only if you have issues using the preferred methods linked to above.
- you can activate the License Statistics license on a machine without access to the internet.
Generally, license re-hosting is free; however, we reserve a right to charge an administrative fee for unusually frequent re-hosting caused by repeated errors. Most errors can be avoided by carefully following these activation instructions and other instructions you've been given.
