Bulk license orders let end users use one activation key to activate a software license (both local and network) on more than one machine by using one activation key. You create a bulk license order by specifying that multiple activations are allowed when creating/editing the license order. You can let end users activate bulk licenses on their own in any of the ways described in Activating software licenses.

To create a bulk license order:

  1. Follow the general instructions for creating the license order as given in Creating and managing license orders.
  2. In the Add License Order dialog, specify the number of activations in the Activations Allowed field of the Settings tab, as shown below. Our example shows that 10 activations are allowed for this license order.

After creating a bulk license order, the General Information area in the Licenses page shows the Activations Allowed and Activations Remaining. Our example shows that 10 activations are allowed and 10 remain, indicating that no license have been activated yet.

After activating licenses, the Activations Allowed and Activations Remaining information change to indicate how many licenses have been activated. In the following example, 4 of the 10 licenses have been activated, so we still have 6 licenses that can be activated. Details for the activated licenses, including the HostID, the activation status (Successful or Failed) and the activation time are shown in the Licenses grid.

Each license under the bulk license order is identified by a unique combination of the activation key and HostID.

Further information about activated licenses can be found in the Activated Licenses grid, including the customer name, product name and version, and the template used for the license order
