Problem with lsmon query tool

The lsmon tool may not work with Sentinel RMS license server. To fix this problem:

  • Copy the lsmon.exe.file to the License Statistics installation directory.

After copying the query tool, specify its location in the License Statistics configuration. You can edit the path using the following steps:

  • Click the edit icon in the Realtime License Servers grid row for a given license server. An Edit License Server dialog opens that allows you to change the existing settings for that license server.
    Change the path.

 If you still have problems with lsmon query tool, make sure that you have all necessary dll files. For example, in some cases you may need lsapiw32.dll. More guidelines on how to resolve this issue can be found in your Sentinel RMS documentation.

Inability to gather statistics on Sentinel LM/RMS

License Statistics may not work as expected if you see an error similar to the following in your Sentinel license manager debug log:

Sentinel LM: Error[0xc8001008]: Unable to talk to host "kapur-lic1". Communication problems??
Contacting Sentinel LM server on host "kapur-lic1"] Press Enter to continue . . .

This is not a License Statistics error, but rather indicates that your monitoring client is unable to communicate with your license server; for example, the lsmon query tool and license server versions may be incompatible. To resolve this problem, please contact your application vendor.
