Communication problems with Usage Client

If there are communication problems between the License Statistics Usage Client and the FLEXlm/FlexNet license server, you may see the following error in the License Statistics log file:

Detecting lmgrd processes...]
Error getting status: Cannot connect to license server system. (-15,570)
2009-06-30 17:31:00] WARNING: Unable to parse logfile for server @ServerName! Please make sure the server is up and available!

To resolve this issue:

  • Edit a particular license server using the Realtime License Servers tab in the Administration page by clicking the edit icon in the Realtime License Servers grid row for the license server you want to change. Note that this page is visible only for License Statistics administrator users.

  • Make sure that the server port number is appropriate for your license server.

If the steps listed above do not resolve the problem, try to type the lmutil command to check the communication between the Usage Monitor and the license server, as specified in the License server issues section under Troubleshooting section. If there are communication problems between the license server and the Usage Monitor, running this command will return more information about them. If there are no errors, the command will return regular usage statistics for the indicated license server.
