For each product you add to LAC, you define the following in the General tab of the Create New Product dialog:
- Product Name. Enter the name for the software application you are adding to LAC.
- Product Version. Enter the version number for the product (limited to numbers and periods; e.g., 1.5). The combination of product name and version must be unique. For example, you can add two products named "Flagship" only if the version numbers are different for each.
- License Manager. Select the license manager that will be used for generating licenses for this product. LAC currently supports Product type ( LM-X, FlexNet or Reprise License Manager), which determines the information you will specify for the License Generator in the next tab.Product description (optional).
- License Generator. Select the license generator this product will use. The license generator must be added as described in Adding and managing license generators. The available options in this selection list are limited to the license generators you have added for the selected license manager.
- Description. Enter a product description if desired. This field is optional.
After entering the general product information, click Next to save your changes and continue to the next tab, License GeneratorFeatures.
