The information on this page refers to License Statistics versions prior to v6.18, which removed the ability to manage licenses using the License Statistics Manager and introduced the CLI. For activation options available with License Statistics v6.18 and newer, see

To activate your license on Linux, the preferred method is to use the lacutil utility, online, or you can use the lacutil utility, which has the advantage of not requiring you to manually enter the HostID. The lacutil.exe file is located in the License Statistics /license directory, as described below. If you have any issues using lacutil, you may try activating the license online.

To use lacutil to activate your License Statistics license:

  1. From a command line, run:
    ./lacutil -activate -act_key activation_key
where activation_key is your License Statistics license Activation Key (sent to you via email).

  2. Copy generated license file to license directory
  3. Restart License Statistics (see Starting and stopping License Statistics on Linux for more information).

See See Installing License Statistics on Linux for additional instructions on getting License Statistics up and running after activating your license.
