Use caution when performing a quick upgrade, because copying all files from the old to the new location at the same time may cause file corruption. Making a backup copy of your database before the installation is strongly recommended. |
To perform a quick upgrade of License Statistics on Linux using an embedded database:
- Stop License Statistics. (See Starting and stopping License Statistics on Linux.)
- Install the new version of License Statistics in a folder different than where it was previously installed. Note that you should not start License Statistics at this point.
- Copy the database files from the existing folder named ".../mysql/data" to the newly installed folder.
- Remove the old License Statistics installation folder.
- Start License Statistics on Linux.
- Wait for the database update process to be completed.
- Open the License Statistics Dashboard to start using License Statistics.
