This page refers to functionality that has been deprecated in License Statistics.

The quick upgrade procedure is not supported when upgrading from License Statistics versions older than v5.15 to License Statistics v5.15 or newer, because in License Statistics v5.15, MySQL 5.5 was replaced with MySQL 5.7. Instead, perform a regular upgrade.

Make sure you create a backup of your database and restore it after installing the new version of License Statistics, as described in Backing up and restoring an embedded database.

Use caution when performing a quick upgrade, because copying all files from the old to the new location at the same time may cause file corruption. Making a backup copy of your database before the installation is strongly recommended.

To perform a quick upgrade of License Statistics on Linux using an embedded database:

  1. Stop License Statistics. (See Starting and stopping License Statistics on Linux.)
  2. Install the new version of License Statistics in a folder different than where it was previously installed. Note that you should not start License Statistics at this point.
  3. Copy the database files from the existing folder named ".../mysql/data" to the newly installed folder.
  4. Remove the old License Statistics installation folder.
  5. Start License Statistics on Linux.
  6. Wait for the database update process to be completed.
  7. Open the License Statistics Dashboard to start using License Statistics.
