To update to License Statistics v6.24 and newer from versions older than v6.18, you must first update to v6.18 or newer (updating to v6.23.3 is recommended). See more details in Upgrading to MySQL 8.4.

As of License Statistics v6.17, the Linux installer automatically updates License Statistics and preserves all data and configuration settings. 

To update License Statistics from v6.17 or newer on Linux:

  1. Back up the database as described in:
  2. Download the License Statistics installation for DEB or RPM from the License Statistics download page.
  3. Start the installer and follow its instructions.


Make sure that 3rd party utilities (like query tools) are always stored outside of the License Statistics installation directory to avoid their removal by the installer.
