All License Statistics data for all monitored applications is accessed from one easy-to-use web-based user interface. Any user can be given access to the License Statistics web application from their computer over an intranet, making it easy to share license tracking information throughout your site.

The License Statistics web-based UI gives you access to information on license server activity, feature usage, user activity, custom SQL queries, and Denied Requests Log statistics (extracted from a FLEXlm/FlexNet or Reprise License Manager (RLM) debug log file or an IBM LUM server, which requires configuration as described in Denied Requests Log).

License Statistics administration functions, including user administration, removal of license servers from monitoring, and the ability to show or hide selected license server and feature information in the web pages, are also accessed using the web application.

License Statistics includes an embedded HTTP server, so it does not use any external HTTP servers to read the License Statistics web pages. Only the embedded HTTP server is to be used with License Statistics. You can configure the port used for the embedded HTTP server as needed in the configuration file.

The License Statistics HTTP server automatically generates HTML pages when you open the web pages. The data shown in the License Statistics grids and charts is automatically updated according to the intervals you set in the configuration file (see Configuring the License Statistics Usage Monitor for information about the configuration file).

The following sections describe how to use the License Statistics web application.
