You can query License Statistics data by groups of users or hosts. For example, you can define user groups that specify types of users, such as the department the users are in, the platform they use, etc. Each user or host can be included in as many groups as needed; they are not limited to a single group.
Groups can be specified in custom queries and can be selected in certain reports, such as Usage Per User (see section 6.8.4, Usage Per User report), to filter results by a chosen user or host group.
Optionally, you can connect to an LDAP server to import user groups, as described in section 6.13.1, Importing LDAP user groups.
