The information on this page refers to License Statistics v7.0 and newer. If you are using a version previous to v7.0, see documentation for previous versions. |
Light restricted access mode was introduced in License Statistics v7.0 to allow users to continue running License Statistics after exceeding usage limits. Light Restricted Access Mode has fewer limitations than Restricted Access Mode.
Light Restricted Access Mode is initiated when:
- Users in the database have exceeded the Soft Limit for the last 30 days
- No Grace Period is available (the Grace Period has run out, but the Soft Limit has remained exceeded)
Light Restricted Access Mode will come into effect 14 days after the Grace Period was initiated and will remain in effect for an additional 14 days or until the usage drops back below the limit. If the limit is exceeded again sooner than 180 days from the last time the limit was exceeded, Restricted Access Mode will be initiated. In order to restore full functionality, you must buy more licenses or disable the server/remove data and wait for usage to drop to the allowable limit.
Limitations
When running License Statistics under Light Restricted Access Mode, the following functionality is disabled:
- Access to Reports in the License Statistics UI and API
- Aggregation
- Importing
- Harvesting
Remote Monitoring and End User Monitoring will continue to run until the Hard Limit is exceeded. After exceeding the Hard Limit, Restricted Access Mode will be initiated.
Light Restricted Access Mode alerts
You will receive alerts and other information to let you know when the limit was exceeded, including:
- An alert that informs you of the last date that the number of allowed users was exceeded.
- Notifications on report grids/charts
- An alert in a red panel at the top of the Licensing page
- Pop up notifications when attempting access blocked features/data
- Emails that inform you when Light Restricted Access Mode has been enabled/disabled
