Notice: This page refers to functionality that has been removed from License Statistics.

The database edit command line utility, xfeditdb, lets you work with data in the License Statistics database. This utility works on both Windows and Unix.

Note: Although the master database used by the License Statistics web application is a MySQL database, both the custom report utility and xfeditdb utilize a SQLite database.

The xfeditdb utility lets you:

  • Merge multiple databases together
  • Rename features
  • Add, view, and delete features, user/host groups, and users/hosts within groups

Important: Whenever working with data in the License Statistics database, always remember to make a backup of the database(s) to ensure against data loss.

The following sections describe how to use the xfeditdb utility to merge databases, rename features, and work with user and host groups. (Note that you can also use the License Statistics web application to manage features and groups. See Viewing and managing your usage statistics using the web-based UI for more information about using the License Statistics web application.)
