The database edit command line utility, xfeditdb, lets you work with data in the License Statistics database. This utility works on both Windows and Linux.
Note: Although the master database used by License Statistics is a MySQL database, both the custom report utility and xfeditdb utilize a SQLite database.
The xfeditdb utility lets you:
- Merge multiple databases together
- Rename features
- Add, view, and delete features, user/host groups, and users/hosts within groups
Important: Whenever working with data in the License Statistics database, always remember to make a backup of the database(s) to ensure against data loss.
The following sections describe how to use the xfeditdb utility to merge databases, rename features, and work with user and host groups. (Note that you can also use License Statistics to manage features and groups. See Using the License Statistics UI for more information about using the License Statistics user interface.)
