The information on this page refers to License Statistics v7.0 and newer. If you are using a version previous to v7.0, see documentation for previous versions.

Licensing Model 2025 was introduced with License Statistics v7.0 to simplify and make the licensing rules more flexible. Licensing Model 2025 is not supported by License Statistics versions older than v7.0.

Licensing Model 2025 is now the default for License Statistics v7.0 and newer, and Licensing Models 2013 and 2019 are deprecated as of v7.0.

However, according to the rules described in the License Transition section:

Changes introduced with Licensing Model 2025

Major changes introduced with Licensing Model 2025 include:

  1. Subscription licensing model (perpetual licenses are available as a limited option under specific circumstances)
  2. Two plan options: Standard (lower price, limited functionality) and Pro (full functionality)
  3. Grace Period and Light Restricted Access Mode allow for continued usage after exceeding the user license limit
    1. Remote and End User monitoring continues even when the user limit is exceeded after the Grace Period
    2. Up to 125% of the license user limit
  4. Harvesting is included in the Pro plan
  5. Unlimited license servers and hosts are allowed

User count and Harvesting changes are described below.

User count

Licensing Model 2025 changes how users are licensed in the following ways:

  • Counts only usernames
  • Counts all users from last 30 days (including Imported Users, Realtime Users, and Denials)
  • Historical users are not counted towards the license limit

Harvesting Agents

  • Harvesting is included only in the Pro plan
  • Harvesting Agents limit is equal to the user license limit

License limits

The following sections describe how Licensing Model 2025 handles license limits. (Note that limiting number of hosts and limiting number of license servers no longer applies to Licensing Model 2025.)

Limit on number of Users

Commercial licenses are delivered with a user count limit, which is the maximum number of unique usernames. The user count includes all users monitored in the last 30 days (including Realtime Usage, Imported Usage and Denials).

Limit on number of License Harvesting Agents

Commercial (Pro plan) licenses include License Harvesting Agents with a limit equal to the maximum number of concurrent online agents that can have license harvesting enabled simultaneously.

The limit applies to the features that the agent delivers, not the agents themselves. For example, you may have an unlimited number of agents for Autodesk monitoring, but the number of those agents that have License Harvesting enabled is limited. A single agent can run multiple limited and unlimited features.

Licensing issues

License Statistics will handle occurrences where usage thresholds are exceeded or the license/maintenance expires as described in the following table.
