The information on this page refers to License Statistics v6.6 18 or newer, which introduced the License Statistics Manager, a tool that replaces direct editing of the xflicstat.cfg configuration file for Windows installationsability to activate the license from UI. If you are running an older version of License Statistics, see documentation for versions prior to v6.618.

Step 1: Prepare files prior to upgrading.

  • If this is an initial installation (not an upgrade), skip this step.

    • Back up the database.
    • Copy the License Statistics configuration file (xflicstat.cfg), license file (license.lic), and third-party utilities (for example lmutil.exe) to a safe location.
    • Uninstall License Statistics before installing the new version, because the License Statistics installation will not remove the currently installed version and will not install a new version into the same location as a previous version.

Step 2: Download and install License Statistics.

Step 4: Copy configuration settings from previous installation.

When the installation is complete, the License Statistics Manager opens. This tool, introduced with License Statistics v6.6, includes configuration settings. You need to change the configuration settings only if you are updating to License Statistics v6.6 and newer from a version older than v6.6. You can skip this step if you are making a clean installation or updating from v6.6+.

  • If the License Statistics Manager is not already running, open it from the X-Formation application group found under the Windows Start menu.
  • Use the License Statistics Manager's Browse option to select your old xflicstat.cfg file. The License Statistics Manager will apply the settings from this file to the new installation.

Step 5: Configure License Statistics for your site.

If you have questions about how to configure License Statistics for your site, please contact X-Formation Support.

For example:

msiexec /i license_statistics_v6.15.1_win64_x64.msi /qn
