A continuous, uninterrupted license server connection is essential to successfully monitor your licenses. The license server status is "Down" when License Statistics is unable to gather the needed data . The user responsible for a license server (i.e. an for this server. An Administrator or a User ) that is in charge of a given license server can subscribe to receive such email alerts to gain insight into the status of license servers. Each such notification indicates a data loss and informs that actions should be taken to maintain license server connectivity.

An electronic mail notification system periodically scans for a license servers that have server with "Down" status, and when it detects such server, it sends an email notification for every License Statistics user subscribed to receive alerts for this license this  server. Each notification is sent only once, unless the license server status changes. A notification will be resent under the following circumstances:

  • When the license server status is floating between "Up" and "Down", and the "Down" status is discovered
  • When a license server that has the "Down" status becomes visible for the user.

When a license server has the "Down" status for a longer period of time, the notification will be sent only once and will not be resent.
