The information on this page refers to License Statistics v6.13 and newer, which renamed "read-only mode" to "restricted access mode." If you are using a version previous to v6.13, see documentation for previous versions.

Restricted access mode Read-only mode was introduced in License Statistics v6.0 to allow users to run License Statistics and in order to do basic administration administrative tasks, even if when the license limits have been exceeded or the license/maintenance has expired. License Statistics versions prior Prior to v6.0, License Statistics would not start up in most of cases related to license overuse or exceeded expiration time.

restricted access mode

Read-only Restricted access mode is enabled automatically when the:

  • Version of the application is higher than the version in the license. license 
  • License (including Trial) has expired.
  • Maintenance has expired, but License Statistics was upgraded.
  • Number of users monitored exceeds the limit set in the license.
  • Number of license servers monitored exceeds the limit set in the license.
  • Number of hosts exceeds the limit set in the license (not applicable to HPC licensing)

Capabilities

While read-only restricted access mode is running, it is possible toyou can:

  • Log in to License Statistics.
  • Manage user preferences
  • Perform all administration actions, including:
    • managing Managing license servers
    • managing Managing users
    • accessing Accessing license details

Limitations

While read-only restricted access mode is running, it is not possible toyou cannot:

  • display any Display data on reports, grids and charts (other than those listed in the previous section)
  • monitor any license Monitor license servers, which will all be blocked from querying
  • import any Import log files
