The information on this page refers to License Statistics v7.0 or newer, which introduced Licensing Model 2025. If you are using an earlier version, please refer to the documentation for previous versions. |
Restricted Access Mode was introduced in License Statistics v6.0 to allow running License Statistics when license limits are exceeded or the license/maintenance has expired. Prior to v6.0, License Statistics would not start up in most cases related to license overuse or exceeded expiration time.
With Licensing Model 2025, Grace Period and Light Restricted Access Mode were introduced in addition to Restricted Access Mode to allow for less restrictive use of License Statistics when license limits are exceeded by less than 125%.
Restricted Access Mode lets you continue to run License Statistics to do basic administrative tasks when the license limits have been exceeded or the license/maintenance has expired, as described below.
Note that server and host limits are applicable to Licensing Model 2013 and Licensing Model 2019 only; these limits do not apply to Licensing Model 2025.
Cases where License Statistics will run in Restricted Access Mode
Restricted Access Mode is enabled automatically when the:
- Version of the application is higher than the version in the license
- License (including Trial) has expired
- Maintenance has expired, but License Statistics was upgraded
- Trial license was used with a non-empty database
- Number of users monitored exceeds the limit set in the license
- Number of license servers monitored exceeds the limit set in the license
- Number of hosts exceeds the limit set in the license (not applicable to HPC licensing)
