The information on this page refers to License Statistics v6.13 and newer, which renamed "read-only mode" to "restricted access mode." If you are using a version previous to v6.13, see documentation for previous versions. |
Restricted access mode was introduced in License Statistics v6.0 to allow users to run License Statistics in order to do basic administrative tasks, even when the license limits have been exceeded or the license/maintenance has expired. Prior to v6.0, License Statistics would not start up in most cases related to license overuse or exceeded expiration time.
Cases where License Statistics will run in restricted access mode
Restricted access mode is enabled automatically when the:
- Version of the application is higher than the version in the license
- License (including Trial) has expired
- Maintenance has expired, but License Statistics was upgraded
- Trial license was used with a non-empty database
- Number of users monitored exceeds the limit set in the license
- Number of license servers monitored exceeds the limit set in the license
- Number of hosts exceeds the limit set in the license (not applicable to HPC licensing)
Capabilities
While restricted access mode is running, you can:
- Log in to License Statistics
- Manage user preferences
- Perform all administration actions, including:
- Managing license servers
- Managing users
- Accessing license details
Limitations
While restricted access mode is running, you cannot:
- Display data on reports, grids and charts (other than those listed in the previous section)
- Monitor license servers, which will be blocked from querying
- Import log files
