For installations older then v4.11.1, it's required to update to v4.11.1 before upgrading to newer versions because the database migration system was changed in v4.11.1.

  1. Back up the following files:
    • License Statistics configuration file (xflicstat.cfg), located in the License Statistics installation directory by default
    • License Statistics license file (license.lic), located in the License Statistics installation directory by default
    • 3rd party utilities (for example, query tools), which should be moved to a location outside of the License Statistics installation directory to avoid their removal by the installer
  2. Back up the database, depending on which database hosting you are using:
  3. Stop License Statistics.
  4. Remove the current installation.

  5. Install License Statistics v4.11.1.

    Do not run License Statistics yet.

  6. Restore the database, depending on which database hosting you are using:
  7. Restore the files you backed up in step 1, including:
    • License Statistics configuration file (xflicstat.cfg)
    • License Statistics license file (license.lic)

  8. Start License Statistics.

    Make sure the database was migrated properly and the application runs before you continue.

  9. Follow the instructions to update from v4.11.1 to the newest version.
