What is License Activation Center?

License Activation Center (LAC) is an advanced SaaS solution that lets you enjoy a greatly simplified — yet advanced — license fulfillment process. When coupled with LM-X License Manager, LAC offers an end-to-end software licensing solution for every phase of license management to completely automate license creation and activation.

Can I get a free trial version of License Activation Center?

You can use a free License Activation Center trial by going to the License Activation Center login page. The fully functional trial version lets you:

  • Add and manage up to 5 users for unlimited time.
  • Use 50 one-time activations for 1 month.

Note: If you don't have one of the license generators supported by LAC (i.e. LM-X License Manager, Reprise License Manager, or FlexNet Publisher), you can obtain it by evaluating LM-X License Manager.

Setting up a test account using License Activation Center is simple:

  1. Go to the License Activation Center login page.
  2. Click the "Log in as a license administrator" link at the bottom of the login area.
  3. Click the "Sign up" link at the bottom of the login page.

    Fill out the request form as instructed, and click Send.

    After you send the form, you will receive a reply email with a password to your account within a short time.

Can License Activation Center produce time-limited temporary licenses?

License Activation Center (LAC) generates node-locked (local), floating (network) and not specified licenses. For more template-specific information, see Creating templates for a product.

Can I use License Activation Center with external license generators?

License Activation Center can be used with the following license generators:

  • LM-X License Manager license generator (xmllicgen)
  • FlexNet Publisher
  • Reprise License Manager

Does License Activation Center work with third-party licensing systems?

Is License Activation Center a service hosted by X-Formation?

License Activation Center is available only as a solution hosted by X-Formation at this time.

Does the customer access License Activation Center directly?

Customers access License Activation Center only by using their Activation Key, which you send to them when creating a license order.

Can I run multiple LAC sessions simultaneously using the same credentials?

LAC does not support concurrent logins using the same user credentials.
