The information on this page refers to License Statistics v7.0 and newer. If you are using a version previous to v7.0, see documentation for previous versions. |
Light Restricted Access Mode allows you to continue running License Statistics with some restrictions after exceeding usage limits. Light Restricted Access Mode has fewer limitations than Restricted Access Mode. You will not be charged extra for users monitored during Light Restricted Access Mode.
Grace Period initiation and discontinuation
Light Restricted Access Mode is initiated when:
- Users in the database have exceeded the usage limit for the last 30 days
- A Grace Period has ended or is no longer available, and the usage limit continues to be exceeded
- The limit has not been exceeded by more than 125% (when the limit is exceeded by over 125%, Restricted Access Mode will be initiated)
In order to run License Statistics without continuing to use Light Restricted Access Mode, you must:
- Load a license with a higher user limit
- Wait for the user count to drop; for example, due to a decreased number of active users or disabled license server(s)
Limitations
When running License Statistics under Light Restricted Access Mode, the following functionality is disabled:
- Access to Reports in the License Statistics UI and API
- Importing
- Harvesting
Remote Monitoring and End User Monitoring will continue to run until the Hard Limit is exceeded. After exceeding the Hard Limit, Restricted Access Mode will be initiated.
Light Restricted Access Mode alerts
You will receive alerts and other information to let you know when the limit was exceeded, including:
- An alert that informs you of the last date that the number of allowed users was exceeded
- Notifications on report grids/charts
- An alert in a red panel at the top of the Licensing page
- Pop up notifications when attempting access blocked features/data
- Emails that inform you when Light Restricted Access Mode has been enabled/disabled
