Grace Period and Light Restricted Access Mode, available only with License Model 2025, allow for a limited time of continued usage after exceeding your license's usage limit. The illustration below describes the conditions under which Grace Period and Light Restricted Access Mode are initiated. For further information, see Grace Period and Light Restricted Access Mode.

Grace Period restrictions

Unlike Light Restricted Access Mode and Restricted Access Mode, the Grace Period does not restrict your use of License Statistics. During the Grace Period, you can continue to:

• Monitor realtime and imported usage
• Use the License Statistics API
• Use the License Statistics UI

Note that:

• You will not be charged extra for users monitored during the Grace Period
• Importing above the limit is not allowed under any circumstances

Grace Period initiation and discontinuation

A Grace Period is initiated after exceeding the limit by no more than 125% for the last 30 days of monitoring. After a Grace Period is initiated:

• The Grace Period will remain in effect for 14 days or until the usage drops back below the limit
• If the usage limit continues to be exceeded for more than 14 days after the Grace Period begins, Light Restricted Access Mode will automatically be initiated
• If the limit is exceeded by over 125%, Restricted Access Mode will be initiated
• After the Grace Period ends, another Grace Period will not be available for 180 days from the time that the limit was last exceeded

In order to run License Statistics without continuing to use the Grace Period, you must:

• Load a license with a higher user limit
• Wait for the user count to drop; for example, due to a decreased number of active users or disabled license server(s)

Grace Period alerts

You will receive alerts to inform you that your license usage limit was exceeded and a Grace Period has been initiated, including:

• An alert that informs you of the last date that the number of allowed users was exceeded
• An alert in a red panel at the top of the Licensing page 
• Emails that inform you when a Grace Period has begun/ended
