For Windows, you download and run an installation program to install License Statistics, as described in the quick start guidefound in our knowledgebase at: http://kb.x-formation.com/questions/105/Installing+License+Statistics+on+Windows+with+a+FLEXlm%7B47%7DFlexNet+Server.
For Unix, you must copy the files from the License Statistics distribution to the desired directory; for example, /home/user/xflicstat (Unix). Details on getting started for Unix are found in our knowledgebase article at http://kb.x-formation.com/questions/170/Installing+License+Statistics+on+Unix+with+a+FLEXlm%7B47%7DFlexNet+Server.
Note that administrator privileges are required on Windows; however, this is not required for Unix.
Important: When upgrading License Statistics to a new version, be sure to make a backup (see Backing up the database) before uninstalling License Statistics. All files will be deleted from the License Statistics installation directory during the uninstallation.
