Configuring ports on Linux

For Linux, you can use port 80 only if you have root privileges, because ports with numbers lower than 1024 cannot be bound without root privileges. This is a security precaution in most kernels. If you do not have root privileges, use a port with a number higher than 1024.

Using the same port

License Statistics may not work as expected, if the same web server port is concurrently used by License Statistics and another application. For example, if both License Statistics and IIS by default use port 80, attempting to access License Statistics may result in displaying an IIS page instead of the License Statistics Dashboard page.

To resolve this issue, open the License Statistics configuration file, xflicstat.cfg, and modify a port setting, WEBSERVER_PORT, by entering a different, available port number.
