The information on this page refers to License Statistics v7.4 or newer, which introduced customizable SSL configuration and added a validation process that prohibits running multiple instances of License Statistics using the same database. If you are using an earlier version of License Statistics, please refer to the documentation for releases prior to v7.4.

License Statistics can use either an external or embedded MySQL database. The following sections contain information relevant to MySQL database configuration, including:

You can find out more about MySQL at http://www.mysql.com.

For more details about using custom SSL certificates with an external MySQL database, see Enabling MySQL SSL.

Manipulating the database can result in database corruption.

Direct SQL queries and manipulation of the database structure are unsupported. Always make a backup of your database before updating or reconfiguring it.

To prevent data corruption, running more than one instance of License Statistics using the same database is not allowed. A validation is run upon application startup to prevent running multiple instances of License Statistics on the same database schema. If detected it, any instances that attempt to start after the first instance will fail to start.

Database configuration settings (Windows)

In Windows, you can review and edit database configuration settings using the License Statistics Manager.
