The License Statistics Agent is an add-on tool to License Statistics that enables client usage monitoring for applications that are licensed on an end-user host rather than running on a license server. The external host. License Statistics Agent communicates between these applications and License Statistics. License Statistics Agent is currently available only for Windows installations of License Statistics. 

License Statistics Agent runs as a service in the background, and has no user interface. Configuration of License Statistics Agent is done during installation. 

Currently, the License Statistics Agent allows monitoring of Autodesk license usage on end-user hosts.

Installing and configuring License Statistics Agent

The License Statistics Agent is currently available only for Windows (64-bit). installer (.msi file) is included in the License Statistics installation "tools" directory (by default: C:\Program Files\X-Formation\License Statistics\tools). The installation file is also available on the X-Formation website in the same location as the License Statistics installation, available by going to the License Statistics download page.

Installation of License Statistics Agent has the following requirementsRequirements:

• Windows 10 or Windows Server 2012+ (64-bit)
• memoryMemory: 1GB
• cpuCPU: 2 cores
• diskDisk: 1GB

Installer (msi) is available on website in the same place as licstat installers.

It's also included to licstat windows installer as separate msi file in "tools" directory (by default: C:\Program Files\X-Formation\License Statistics\tools).

Architecture:

To install License Statistics Agent, open the .msi file and follow the instructions in the installation wizard. By default:

• All all of the application files are kept in Program Files by default
• all All user data is kept in C:\ProgramData\X-Formation\License Statistics Agent folder (includes logs, configuration file, etc)

Configuration

One of the installer steps is configuration form. In contains 2 fields:The License Statistics Agent installation requires two details for configuration, as described below.

• License Statistics URL which is an endpoint to specific license server configured in licstatLicense Statistics. It The URL can be taken from licstat found in the License Statistics administration page using "Copy Agent URL to clipboard" action available on the Realtime License Servers grid (currently available only for all Autodesk license servers).

• Agent API Token which is an authorization token. It can be generated in Preferences->API. The token should contain Agent scope, only administrators can generated tokens with this scope.

Uninstalling

Uninstaller is standard solution. Uninstaller License Statistics Agent can be uninstalled using the standard Windows uninstallation procedure. Uninstalling License Statistics Agent stops the service and removes it from the system. Optionally it can also remove , you can specify during uninstallation to remove the user data, which are including logs, configuration file, etc.

If you choose to retain the user data will stay, it will be re-used again in case of Agent next installation, eg. reused if License Statistics Agent is reinstalled (for example, the configuration data will be automatically fill-out filled in on the configuration installer form during installation).
