The old licensing model for License Statistics is deprecated as of version 6v6.0 and has been replaced with a new licensing model that simplifies the licensing rules.
- The new licensing model won't be supported by License Statistics versions lower than 6v6.0.
- The old licensing model will continue to work with all License Statistics versions including 5v5.x and 6v6.x according to the rules described in this section.
Trial
As of License Statistics 6v6.0, the application will start as a Trial license type with new licensing rules. All the values displayed on the License Details page in Administration will be calculated according to the new licensing rules.

- New customers cannot use the old licensing model with a new purchase of License Statistics 6v6.0 or newer.
- Up to March 15, 2020, existing customers can continue using the old licensing model if desired when making changes to their existing license terms (e.g., purchasing an add-on, increasing number of users/licenses, or changing license type).
- After March 15, 2020, existing customers will no longer be able to change existing license terms using the old licensing model. Transition to the new licensing model will be required when making any changes to existing license terms.
- Due to technical limitations, License Statistics 5v5.x does not support the new licensing model, so in order to make changes to existing license terms after March 15, 2020, customers will be required to upgrade to License Statistics 6v6.x.
