The old licensing model for License Statistics is deprecated as of version 6.0 and has been replaced with a new licensing model that simplifies the licensing rules.
- The new licensing model won't be supported by License Statistics versions lower than 6.0.
- The old licensing model will continue to work with all License Statistics versions including 5.x and 6.x according to the rules described in this section.
Trial
As of License Statistics 6.0, the application will start as a Trial license type with new licensing rules. All the values displayed on the License Details page in Administration will be calculated according to the new licensing rules.
Old licensing termination
We are not planning to terminate support for old licensing for existing customers. All licenses will continue to work and it will be possible to extend the maintenance on regular the original licensing rules. However, howevernote that:
- new customers are not able to buy the old license after New customers cannot use the old licensing model with a new purchase of License Statistics 6.0 was releasedor newer
- Up to until March 15, 2020 it will be possible to buy , existing customers can purchase an add-on and to extend the maintenance for their existing license(s) using old the original licensing model
- after After March 15, 2020 it won't , it will no longer be possible to extend the license using old licensing and transition to new licensing will be required in order to extend the licensemaintenance for existing license(s) using the original licensing. Transition to the new licensing model will be required when renewing maintenance for the license.
- Due to technical limitations, due to technical limitations License Statistics 5.x is does not going to support the new licensing model, so in order to extend the license renew maintenance for existing licenses after March 15, 2020, customers will be required to upgrade to License Statistics 6.x will be required.

Moving to new licensing
All customers has have the ability to move to the new licensing model. In order to do that To do this, please contact with X-Formation Sales department. Our representative will to modify your license configuration and new license will be delivered.
Activation Key for the license will remain the same, simple license re-activation will be required in order to move your License Statistics 6.0 to new licensing.
Due to deliver a new license to you. Due to the new licensing model's simplified way of calculating license servers and users, new values needs for these calculations will need to be set to in the new license. That's why our Sales representative will ask for the new values. Description of how to determine amount of users and license servers in new licensing is describe in Please be prepared to provide our sales representative with the new values, as described in "Determining new license usage" section below.below.
The Activation Key for the license will remain the same. Simple license reactivation will be required in order to use License Statistics 6.0 with the new licensing model.
Determining new license usage
If you are using License Statistics 5.x is used, upgrade upgrading to 6.x is required in order to determine new licensing requirements.
In License Statistics 6.x there is includes a new License Details page under Administrationtab in the Administration page to help you determine your license usage.
- If the old licensing model is used, you can see there separate the License Details tab will contain sections for Realtime and Import licenses showing old license consumption. On the panel above you can see values which would be used if new licensing would be effective. Provide those numbers to our Sales , which show the usage details for the old licensing model. The panel above this section shows the usage values that would be in effect under the new licensing model. Provide these numbers to our sales department in order to receive your new license.
