The information on this page refers to License Statistics v6.11 and newer, which redesigned license server administration to allow multiple data sources for license servers. If you are using a version previous to v6.11, see documentation for previous versions.

You can import existing debug logs as described in Importing license server data

The Denied Requests Log works only with LM-X License Manager, FLEXlm/FlexNet, IBM LUM and Reprise License Manager (RLM), and is generated based on the denied user request data produced by the license server. For more information about the Denied Requests Log, see Denied Requests Log.

  • To generate a Denied Requests Log for FLEXlm/FlexNet, you must have a FLEXlm/FlexNet debug log. The license server must be configured to store this log file. See the FLEXlm/FlexNet documentation for more information.
  • To generate a Denied Requests Log for IBM LUM, you must first use the i4blt command to capture the usage statistics from the IBM LUM server using the following command that will and generate the required report; for example:

    i4blt -4 r 1 > i4blt.log

Note: Each created log file must contain only the data from one server. Otherwise, it will not be possible to parse the data successfully.

See the IBM LUM documentation for further information.
  • To generate a Denied Requests Log for RLM, you must have an RLM debug log. The license server must be configured to store this log file. See the RLM documentation for more information.

You can import existing debug logs by putting them into the importlog directory. License Statistics will scan the file and put the contents into the database. You can see the import details in the log file.
