Licensing Model 2025 was introduced with License Statistics v7.0 to simplify and make add more flexibility to the licensing rules more flexible. Licensing Model 2025 is not supported by License Statistics versions older than v7.0.

Licensing Model 2025 is now the default for License Statistics v7.0 and newer, and Licensing Models 2013 and 2019 are deprecated as of v7.0.

However, according to the rules described in the License Transition section:

  1. Subscription licensing model (perpetual licenses are available as a limited option under specific circumstances)
  2. Two plan options: Standard (lower price, limited functionality) and Pro (full functionality)
  3. Grace Period and Light Restricted Access Mode allow for continued usage after exceeding the user license limit
    1. Remote and End User monitoring continues even when the user limit is exceeded after the Grace Period
    2. Allows for up to 125% of the license user limit
  4. Harvesting is included in the Pro plan
  5. Unlimited license servers and hosts are allowed  
  6. Changes to how users are counted
  7. Ability to remove historical data older than the last 30 days

With these changes, Licensing Model 2025 carries the following benefits:

  • Flat licensing
  • Do not count historical users
  • Pay for what you use (last 30 - days)
  • Easy to estimate and calculate needs
  • Temporary license extensions
  • Unlimited License Servers license servers and Hostshosts
  • Grace Period and continued server monitoring (LRAMLight Restricted Access Mode) if the license was limits are exceeded
