You can use Host Merging to merge duplicate hosts in cases where there is a one-to-one match of a single known hostname and a single unknown hostname that have the same IP address.

If there are more multiple hosts with different hostnames and the same IP address, they cannot be merged, because it is not possible to determine which hosts should be merged.The merge operation can be safely executed only when License Statistics is starting (regular start-up task scheduling is used, like for Data Anonymization/Data Deletion/Cache Invalidation)

To perform host merging: 

1. Go to the Administration: Data Management tab from the Administration page page. (This page is visible only for License Statistics administrator users.)
   
2. Under the Host Merging section, click Merge.
   A grid displays the details of the host(s) that will be merged and a confirmation to continue with (or cancel) the merge.

3. Click Yes to confirm the merge. 
4. After confirming the merge, it will be scheduled but will not be executed until License Statistics is restarted. You can cancel the merge operation any time before License Statistics is restarted by clicking Cancel in the box that displays in the Host Merging area.

5. After restarting License Statistics, the Host Merging operation will be indicated on the initialization screen.
Hosts will be merged only where there is a one-to-one match of a single known hostname and a single unknown hostname that have the same IP address.

7. After the hosts are merged, they will be reported as one host on License Statistics reports, and counted as one for licensing purposes.
