- Open the Windows Control Panel and select System and Security.
- Select System from the System and Security options.
- Select Advanced system settings from the list of options in the left column of the System window.
- From the System Properties dialog that appears, select Environment Variables...
- Under System variables, select New...
- For the Variable name, enter LMX_AUTOMATIC_SERVER_DISCOVERY or vendor_AUTOMATIC_SERVER_DISCOVERY (where vendor is the name of the software vendor for which to use automatic server discovery) and set the value to 1 (or any positive numberother integer) to enable it.
- Click OK to add the variable.
- Click OK from the Environment Variables dialog to save your changes, and then click OK from the System Properties dialog to close it.
