To activate and download a license online:
- In a web browser, go to https://license.x-formation.com. (Note: LAC will run on most popular browsers, including Windows Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Opera. If running LAC using Windows Internet Explorer, you must use Internet Explorer version 9.)
- Enter the activation key associated with the license (provided by your software vendor) in the Activate License section of the log in page, then click Log in. A page opens that shows the associated license information (product name and version, creation/activation date, etc.).
- Your vendor may require that you provide one or more HostIDs for the machine where the license is being installed, or may not require HostID information. If your vendor requires HostID information to activate the license, you must enter the information in the HostID Value field, only the first time the license is downloaded. (If you do not see this field, your vendor does not require HostID information and you can skip this step.)
If you are required to enter more than one HostID, they will be listed under the HostID Value field. The format to enter your HostID is TYPE1=value1, TYPE1=value2, TYPE2=value3. For example, Username=MyName, Hostname=MyHostName.
- After entering the HostID (if required), activate the license by clicking the Activate button.
- Download the activated license by clicking the Download button.
After activating and downloading the license, you can re-download the license at any time by following steps 1 and 4 above. (On subsequent downloads, the hostid will be filled in, and you need only click the Download button to obtain the license.)
