The information on this page refers to License Statistics v6.6 or newer, which introduced the License Statistics Manager, a tool that replaces direct editing of the xflicstat.cfg configuration file for Windows installations. If you are running an older version of License Statistics, see documentation for versions prior to v6.6.

The following steps are designed to get License Statistics up and running on Windows, using a FLEXlm/FlexNet server as an example.

Step 1: Prepare files prior to upgrading.

Step 2: Download and install License Statistics.

Step 3: Activate the license.

When the installation is complete, License Activator steps you through activating your license.

Step 4: Copy configuration settings from previous installation.

When the installation is complete, the License Statistics Manager opens. This tool, introduced with License Statistics v6.6, includes configuration settings. You need to change the configuration settings only if you are updating to License Statistics v6.6 and newer from a version older than v6.6. You can skip this step if you are making a clean installation or updating from v6.6+.

Step 5: Configure License Statistics for your site.

If you have questions about how to configure License Statistics for your site, please contact X-Formation Support.

Step 6: Restore the database if needed.

Step 7: Obtain all needed utility executables.

Step 8: Start the service.

Start the service from the License Statistics Manager using the Start License Statistics button or by using Start License Statistics from the X-Formation application group. (To stop the service, use Stop License Statistics from the License Statistics Manager or the application group.)

Step 9: Configure the license servers

To configure license servers to be monitored by License Statistics, see Adding and editing realtime license servers.

When you configure your license servers, specify the path to your query tool if needed.

Step 10: Test that License Statistics is running normally.

The video below shows how to install License Statistics on Windows.
