The information on this page refers to License Statistics

v4.9, Feature Versioning is enabled by default and can no longer be disabled. All newly added license servers will have Feature Versioning enabled for the license server types that are supported. For previously existing license servers that have versioning disabled, the versioning will continue to be disabled. Feature information now also includes type (Floating, Nodelocked, or Token). As of License Statistics v4.13.2, you can decide whether you want to enable Feature Versioning for the supported license server types or not. If you are running a version older than v4.9, see Using Feature Versioning.

The pages under the Features section in the left navigation pane let you see realtime usage, history of usage, user history, history of utilization (percentage), and (when applicable) denials.

You can also To see usage details about monitored features, click Features at the top of the License Statistics web page, or click on a feature name in any Feature column in a grid (for example, from the Current Utilization grid on the Dashboard or the License Servers page) to see the details Server Current Usage grid under the License Server section) to automatically go to the Usage History page for that feature. (Note that License Statistics accommodates having multiple servers for one application.The Features pages let you see realtime usage, history of usage, history of utilization (percentage), and when applicable, denials, as described in the following sections.

General feature information

Each All feature usage report includes pages include a collapsible General Information area . In addition to supplying information specific to the report type (as detailed in the following sections), this area includes general information that helps identify the at the top of the page that shows general information about the selected feature, including:

  • The feature's name, version, and type (see Feature identifiers, below).
  • Information about the feature, such as statistics totals and the last update time.

Note that if the last update time for the feature exceeds 2 times the query interval (as set in license server settings), the last update time will display in red. For example, if the update interval is 2 minutes (120 seconds) and there is no update for 4 minutes, the last update time will display in red.

A yellow warning triangle with an exclamation point, which you can sometimes see when viewing usage statistics for features, indicates that you are using old licenses that have already expired. You will see the triangle next to the count of Used, Borrowed, and Reserved licenses in the following circumstances:

  • When the feature expiration date is past
  • When the count of active licenses is other than 0

Feature identifiers

Throughout License Statistics, features shown in lists include a separate entry for each version of that feature, and are named feature_version. Versioning provides a finer granularity to report results, which is useful when you have multiple versions of particular features that you want to track individually. For example, under IBM LUM, the Catia MD2 application cost varies depending on version, so Feature Versioning can help when considering budget for one version versus another version.

In usage grids such as License Server Current Usage, feature identifiers are displayed in three separate columns: nameName, versionVersion, and typeType. If a given feature has more than one type, it will be listed in usage grids once for each type.
